The premiere of the Geico cavemen’s new show aptly titled “Caveman” came on last week and after watching bits and pieces I gotta say it is totally stupid and boring. I mean can you say taking a joke too far. Yes it was funny when Geico did the ads. We laughed, we had a good time with it and the whole bit. But enough is enough. This show should not even be on the air. I smell a strong hint of cancellation.

The other day I watched a movie titled “I Want Someone to Eat Cheese With” starring Jeff Garlin, Sarah Silverman, Bonnie Hunt and others. It was on OnDemand under “IFC in Theaters”. They put movies up on OnDemand the same day theyre in theaters, which is kind of nice. It cost $5.99 to watch it on OnDemand and you can watch it as many times as you want for a 24 hour period. It was a great movie, although it was a bit short at 80 minutes. I gave it a rating of 6/10. Check it out if you get a chance.

Fox’s reality TV show “Hell’s Kitchen” is really heating up as they are down to the final two contestants. The two contestants that remain for the finale are Rock and Bonnie. I’ve got all bets that Rock would win, even though he has a bad attitude. With that aside, aside Rock seems to be a perfectionist and a chef that is very knowledge about his food. The countdown has begun. Let the games begin.

It seems to me that ever since model Tyra Banks left the stage that she has someone become a klutz to say the least. On a recent episode of her talk show, an animal lover who brought along his animal friends joined Tyra. Tyra, who was afraid of one of the animals, climbed to the top of her chair and fell backwards leaving her audience in stitches. And although the media had a field day with her fall, it did not augur well for a former model.

You know that TV commercial where the woman says that the cereal Honey Bunches of Oats is like a mouthful of joy. Well that is no idle boast. In fact I think it is one of the best cereals around, and I’ve tried a lot of cereals in my day. Even my kid loves it, she asks for more the minute she’s done having a bowl of it. I don’t know if it’s the honey or the oat clusters in it but the combination is nothing short of satisfying. It’s all that I buy now to feel filled up each morning.

17 year old Jordin Sparks won this year’s American Idol bringing to a close the most boring American Idol that I have seen in years. As much as the winner they say she is, I don’t think that Jordin will spark too much in record sales when her CD drops. I for one won’t be buying into that crap. Good luck Jordin but you don’t have my vote. Sorry.

They say that the third time is a charm but I think that the producers of VH1’s Flavor of Love may be making a mistake this time around. Can you say overkill? The show is as fake as they come and we all know now especially judging from the last two winners, that Flavor Flav is not looking for a girlfriend. If anything the show has only helped to boost the career of the girls on the show, the very thing that Flavor didn’t want the girls to appear on the show for. I’ve seen some of the hopefuls for the new show and all I can say is that they better get ready to be used, abused and dumped and have their reputation scared for life in front of national TV.

I’ve been an avid fan of the soap “Days of Our Lives” for the last three years. But now the show has reached a stage where it seems like the writers are running out of ideas. And this is frustrating to say the least. So I have not been watching it that much lately. I heard that the show is scheduled to come to an end in 2009. All I can is “it’s about time”.

It’s one thing to be the daughter of Billy Ray Cyrus, the country singer who moved up the charts with the catchy “Achy, Breaky Heart”. It’s another thing when you possess the talent that would put you in a class by yourself without the help of your famous father. And that’s what Miley Cyrus has done, carved a niche all of her own in today’s music market. With her successful tv show “Hannah Montana” and a soaring singing career, the sky is the limit for young Miley. Let’s pray that she does not fall into the vacuum that seems to pull child stars and make them go bad. At least her father is mindful of what’s going on with teen stars enough to keep a close eye on Miley as he recently told the media.

Wow, so many reality talent shows are coming on board that I could hardly keep up with them. The latest is called “The Singing Bee” and its host is the former NSync singer Joey Fatone. The show features unprofessional singers vying for cash in a karaoke styled type show. I’m not sure which one was conceptualized first but there is also a similar type show that is running on another network called “Don’t Forget The Lyrics“. Hosted by Wayne Brady, the show also features unprofessional singers who are expected to remember the words of songs that are played. I’m not sure which one would be the most successful and most watched since they both fall on the same night and time. We will just have to wait and see.
