She’s Cooking Up A Storm

Filed under: Random Thoughts, Food, Relationships, Website Reviews

My girlfriend really enjoys cooking and trying to come up with new meal ideas. Recently she started experimenting with snacks and appetizers and I’ve got to say, I’m really enjoying it. She’s been visiting MyRecipes.com for a lot of different recipes and she’s doing a great job. She’s even got me in there helping her at times. I hope this isn’t just a phase, because I’m enjoying the heck out of it.

Wine Coolers Arent That Bad

Filed under: Random Thoughts, Food, Website Reviews

I was at a little get together a while back and the only alcoholic beverages they had were wine coolers. I’m not real big on wine coolers but they actually werent that bad. I might even pick a few up to keep in my fridge, I wouldn’t mind having one occasionally. I usually drink Margaritas or just some Bud Light beer.

His Request

So my husband would be home from his military tour in Iraq soon and I’m going out of mind as to try to surprise him with something, anything. Usually soldiers return home and they expect this big party with family and friends. Guess what my husband wants. Lemon cake from Stop and Shop! That’s it. Before he left he used to go purchase two, one for me one for him because I’d eat it all before he could get more slices. So I’m gonna give him what he wants, and that’s not a tall order to fullfill. Not at all.

The Cheat to Lose Diet

Filed under: Tips, Food, Health, Website Reviews

A friend of mine recently started losing alot of weight on a new system called The Cheat to Lose Diet. He says that he’s also able to eat all of his favorite foods while on the diet. In fact, he says that’s what makes the diet work. I checked it out online and it seems to be getting some great reviews from people who have used it. The diet is all about finding out what your own body needs to jump start your metabolism and burn the most fat. Everyones body is different so the diet that works for one person might not work at all for another person. This program is tailored to your specific needs.

The Cheat to Lose Diet book is available on Amazon.com. You can also visit CheatToLoseDiet.com for more information regarding this popular new diet program.

Saving For A Rainy Day

It is quite easy to spend money especially around this time of year. But once must be mindful of the financial pressures that come with the opening of a new school year and try to curb their spending habits. There is absolutely nothing wrong with ditching Burger King for a picnic that boasts home made food. Also try saving at least $20 each week out of your paycheck. By doing this, you will always have money stashed away in case of an emergency.

In Hell’s Kitchen

Fox’s reality TV show “Hell’s Kitchen” is really heating up as they are down to the final two contestants. The two contestants that remain for the finale are Rock and Bonnie. I’ve got all bets that Rock would win, even though he has a bad attitude. With that aside, aside Rock seems to be a perfectionist and a chef that is very knowledge about his food. The countdown has begun. Let the games begin.

Gotta Love Convenience

Convenience is a hell of a thing, isn’t it? Luckily for me I live within mere walking distance of Pizza Hut/Taco Bell and Domino’s Pizza. Domino’s Pizza is the closer of the two and I just love going there to get my grub on, especially on days that I don’t feel like cooking. My latest crave on the menu is the chessy bread which is a blend of cheddar and mozzarella cheese served with marinara sauce. I usually order up extra cheese with this and I must say that it is truly delicious. The bread melts in your mouth, no hard crust here, and the sauce further enhances it. The cheesy bread costs $4.00 and it keeps you all filled up and satisfied for a few hours after eating.

For The Love Of Cookbooks

I’ve taken a sabbatical from purchasing novels to stocking up on cookbooks. It’s only fitting that I would do this since I love cooking and experimenting with new flavors and food. I stumbled upon Food Network’s Ina Garten’s book “Barefoot Contessa Family Style” and let me tell you it is a real treat. The foods are easy to try with the use of simple ingredients. I tried the Parmesan chicken recipe for the first time over the weekend and it was absolutely delicious. To think that I had cooked it perfectly and it was only my first effort.
