My heart goes out to women who have no choice but to reside in a shelter. Really, it is the closest thing to living on the streets. I have had first hand knowledge of this but luckily for me I did not remain there for any long period of time. Those who did remain had to ensure moldy bread and bland tasting food had to do chores and they ran the risk of others stealing their food items and personal items. That’s pathetic to say the least. I remember walking away from the shelter with the assurance that I had a real home waiting for me, with fresh food and clean bed sheets and it hurt that I had to leave those who had no choice behind like that. Pity.
