Mineral Makeup For African-Americans?

I’ve been hearing a lot about mineral makeup lately. People are saying that it is better to use than liquid foundation as it results in your face looking flawless without leaving clogged pores. This seemed right up my alley so I tried a sample before purchasing the full size and wasting money. As an African-American, the counter clerk recommended that I get the cocoa, their darkest shade. Got home and wasted no time in putting it on and then I stood back from the mirror waiting for the magic. There was none. I looked a hot mess like a corpse in the sun and my face was white as if I had seen a ghost. Don’t they make this type of make-up for African-American women too? If they do, what shade should I use? Well I returned to the store and asked the question and the clerk said I needed to take two of their darkest foundations and blend them to get my color. Well that was the most stupid thing I’ve ever heard. I’ll stick with my cocoa press-powder thank you very much!
